How do I care for wood cabinets?

The best way to care for your wood cabinets is:

Dusting. Dust cabinets frequently with a soft lint-free cloth. You can dampen the cloth slightly with water or a spray-type dust remover.

Spills. Clean spills immediately. Use a clean cloth and mild soap if necessary. Wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.

Cleaning. Use a clean cloth and mild soap if necessary. Wipe dry with a clean soft cloth.

Polishing. You can wash and polish cabinets once or twice each year. Use a light coat of a quality furniture polish that does not have silicone. Silicone damages wood.

Can sunlight damage my cabinets?

Direct sunlight exposes your cabinets to damaging UV rays which can damage your cabinetry. Higher quality cabinet makers apply UV inhibitors as part of the finishing process to help protect your cabinets from sun damage.

What is the difference between "all-wood" and "solid wood" cabinets?

10 Day Kitchen only installs cabinets that are “all wood.” You will never find composites such as particle board or MDF (medium-density fiberboard) in the cabinets we install in your home. Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibers, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. It is somewhat denser than normal particleboard but suffers from limitations. Particleboard and MDF cabinets tend to sag and swell over time and both lesser materials tend to break or split over time. For your investment, you want to only have “all wood” cabinetry installed.

What is the warranty on my cabinets?

The cabinets installed come with a limited manufacturer warranties. You will receive documentation at your install. All workmanship is also warrantied for 1 year after your kitchen installation is complete.
